LMR-600-FR 

LMR-600-FR Coaxial cable is an extremely popular product within the Times Microwave LMR coaxial cable range. The LMR-600-FR cable is recognised globally as the industry standard ultra low loss, fire retardant, flexible, low cost, lightweight, DC – 6GHz coaxial cable solution for many RF applications. This is also backed up by the best warranty and technical support in the business.

Why choose LMR-600-FR?

LMR-600-FR is a non-halogen (non-toxic), low smoke, fire retardant version of the LMR-600 cable designed for in-building runs that can be routed anywhere except air handling plenums. LMR-600-FR is UL/NEC & CSA rated ‘CMR’ and ‘FT4’ respectively, meets FAA FAR25 requirements and is MSHA-P for mining applications.

LMR-600-FR also has excellent reliability, unsurpassed flexibility and ultra low attenuation. It has loss figures comparable to the extremely rigid corrugated coaxial cables however manages to achieve surpassed flexibility, making the cable much easier to install. Installing the connectors on the LMR-600-FR cable versus corrugated copper cables in much quicker and simpler.

How is the LMR-600-FR low loss figures achieved?

This is achieved due to the cable construction specifications. The centre conductor uses a high conductivity, Bare copper clad covered aluminium centre conductor material. The dielectric is nitrogen injected, foamed, closed cell, Polyethylene which helps achieve 85% Velocity of Propagation. The Dielectric has an Aluminium foil outer conductor, which is chemically bonded on to it. Due to the cable construction, The attenuation is significantly lower as compared to single shielded coaxial cables: RF shielding of LMR-600 is > 90 db.

Outer Jacket

The LMR-600-FR Jacket is made from fire retardant polyethylene. The cable jacket can withstand harsh outside environments and UV rays from sunlight, as well as being fully fire retardant to allow the cable to be routed indoors safely.

Frequency Operating Band

LMR-600-FR is designed to operate excellent from DC – 6GHz. For any frequency band at VHF and above LMR is the obvious choice.

    The CST-600 Cable Stripping Tool, included in the TK-600EZ Tool Kit, is the second tool used to strip the LMR coaxial cable . This tool has 3 features: Cable cut (To centre conductor), Jacket stripper and centre conductor deburring tool. There is also an adjustment setting on the stripping tool to allow to cut for Times Microwave LMR Crimp connectors or Clamp connectors. This avoids having to take the time to read instructions and measure. Simply set it to the correct connector type and start stripping!  
    CT-600 Crimp Tool 
    The CT-600 Crimp Tool, included in the TK-600EZ Tool Kit is the final tool used to crimp the connector on to the LMR-600 coaxial cable. The Crimp Tool has been specifically designed with ultra strong dies that never wear over time. The dies are made to a very fine tolerance, specifically designed for LMR-600 X Series connectors.
