TCOM-500 cable is a Flexible Low Loss Communications Coaxial cable, supplied in any length – manufactured by Times Microwave Systems and available from McGill Microwave – Authorised Distributor of all Times Microwave products.
TCOM-500 Coaxial cable is a very popular product for applications where repeated flexing is taking place. The construction specifications of the cable have been designed in such a way that provides continuous reliability with continuous flexure.
Additionally, this cable provides Low Passive Inter Modulation (155 dBc Intermodulation Distortion). This cable is therefore an excellent telecommunications cable with the added benefit of unsurpassed reliability.
How is the TCOM-500 low loss figures achieved?
This is achieved due to the cable construction specifications. The centre conductor uses a high conductivity, Bare copper clad covered aluminium centre conductor material. The dielectric is nitrogen injected, foamed, closed cell, Polyethylene which helps achieve 86% Velocity of Propagation. There is a Silver Plate Copper Strip Braid over the Dielectric which helps to achieve lower DV resistance and thus keep the insertion loss low. As there is an SPC strip braid, Aluminium Tape and TC Braid, the shielding effectiveness is excellent at >100dB!
The TCOM-500 comes with a UV resistant, PE Jacket. This helps to ensure the cable jacket can withstand harsh outside environments and UV rays from sunlight, this is designed to last for up to 20 years of outdoor service.
Frequency Operating Band
TCOM-500 is designed to operate excellent from 30 MHz – 10GHz.
